You might not have thought of it before now, but dirt in places you can not reach to clean is a real problem. You  can see for yourself that there is hardly any space between the last shelf of my desk and the floor. Do you have any idea how much dust gathers there …? And not just here.

How to dust under the sofa, the antique chest of drawers, the linen cupboard, the bed …? These are all tight place no broom  nor vacuum cleaner can reach to do the job.

Looking around the shelves in the supermarket for a tool that could solve that problem the other day, I decided to try a Swiffer.

It does not sound sexy, it doesn’t look sexy but it works! My new friend Swiffer swipes the dust of floors made of smooth surfaces like wood, tiles, or vinyl. It is light and uncomplicated, and it is easy to store away and easy to put to use any time.

The Swiffer is just a flat thing on a broom stick. On the flat bit you have four soft-touch grippers. This is where you attach the piece of cloth that will grab the dust.  Actually, the cloth is not a textile, but a kind of tissue with dust grabbing ridges and grooves. You throw it in the waste once it is too dirty to reuse.

Besides the basic elements of the apparatus and the plain directions for handling, the next clever thing is the 360 degree swivel head, which allows you to reach those tight places and corners. I have also used it to clean mirrors and the glass of large pictures.

My verdict: I recommend you to buy your own and clean your home!
